Goji Berries - Why are they so good for you?

I will go through the benefits of the red fruit and give you some tips on how to use it.
What are Goji Berries?
Goji Berry is a fruit cultivated mostly in China. It was used in the ancient China as a medicinal ingredient to treat different health issues: protect the liver, kidneys and organs of vision; stimulate the immune system, etc.
These past few years, Goji berries have become really popular in Europe because of their several benefits.
In fact, they are full of vitamins and antioxidant!
Full of vitamins
Goji berries are full of vitamin A and C, iron, zinc and antioxidants.
They give you a boost of energy and contribute to a healthy immune system.
Goji berries give you nearly 10 percent of your daily need for protein (13g of protein for 100g).
Also, carbohydrates in goji berries are complex carbs.
Complex carbs are better than simple carbs for different reasons.
They are more nutrients and full of fiber. In fact, you blood sugar raise slowly which avoid you any sugar crash during the day.
Detoxify your body
Goji berries help you to get rid of the toxins in your body.
In fact, goji berries are full of antioxidants and especially of zeaxanthin which will help you to defend your body against pollution and chemicals present in food.
How do I use them?
You can totally eat goji berries as a snack by themselves or add them to your granola!
It can be super nice to add them to your favourite baked good like muffins, french toast or waffles.
If you want to add them to your savoury meals you also can! Just boil the goji berries for 5 to 10 minutes and drain them.
It will make the berries tender to add them to a curry for example. Nice sweet touch!
